Foreign investment in Andorra exceeds 444 million

The fall in the volume of foreign investment in Andorra in the first half of 2020 is already history. Naturally, all the investments that could not be completed during the past year have been approved for the current year, which has generated extraordinary investment figures.

Thus, while last year closed with an investment authorization of around 41 million euros, the authorized figure for this year exceeds 444 million, a figure that also exceeds the investment with which 2019 closed (189 million euros). According to the Minister of the Presidency, Economy and Business, Jordi Gallardo, this impressive increase is due to the authorizations formalized for all the projects that were left on standby due to the pandemic.

Numbers

Beyond economic issues, the number of authorized projects also gives an idea of ​​the investment recovery that the Principality of Andorra is experiencing. The 276 applications authorized in the first half of 2019 and the 210 registered in the same period of 2020 have shot up to 535 applications approved so far in 2021. In real estate, approvals have increased from 123 in 2020 to 213 in 2021. In economic magnitudes, real estate investment has gone from 30 to 81 million euros.

The most active sectors in foreign investment have been the companies that manage assets, provision of services and trade in Andorra or from Andorra abroad.
